TechInfoNewsUpdate#1: Jio Phone 2, WhatsApp link detection, CIMON

Overview:

        Being upto date with the latest in the field of tech is of paramount importance. In retrospect, Technology Infotainment is introducing a new tangent to the blog called the TechInfoNewsUpdates. It is aimed to shortly brief regarding the latest in the technology line up and keep you upto date with general information. In this news update we cover:

1] Detroit: Become Human: 

        For all the game enthusiasts, Detroit: Become human is one of the latest games developed by Quantic dream and published by Sony on PS4. Its an adventure game that explores the scenarios in which humans and androids (robots) co-exist; sort of reminds us of the i-Robot movie starring Will Smith! The word in the gaming world has it that: The story is engaging with excellent character details and voice actings. 


2] Launch of Jio phone 2: 

      Jio has launched yet another 4G phone with a QWERTY keypad form factor which slightly resembles the BlackBerry line up. The price has been set at Rs.2999/- 
      It comes with a 2.4" display | 512Mb RAM | Internal storage of 4GB and a slot for SD card expandable up to 128GB | back camera is 3MP and the front facing camera is VGA | works on KAI OS, it is bluetooth and NFC enabled.


     Considering the specs on the phone, it is slightly overpriced but on the other hand; if you own the old jio phone you can exchange it and buy the new Jio phone 2 at an additional cost of just Rs.501/-


3] WhatsApp suspicious link detection: 

      WhatsApp has reportedly started testing on the detection of suspicious links which will aid in reducing malicious links being forwarded in whatsapp. This happened as the after math of a massive spread of misinformation in India and WhatsApp was requested by the IT Ministry to restrict proliferation of messages with a facade. 

4] Space X CIMON: 

        Space X has made yet another innovation by manufacturing Crew Interactive MObile companioN (CIMON) that accompanies astronauts in space missions. It has also been described as the Flying Brain and it is basically a robot with AI features intended to help astronauts regulate their research and shuttle activities.

CIMON has been trained to recognise the voice and face of Alexander Gerst, 42, a geophysicist with the European Space Agency; It hovers at the astronaut's eye level, and has a camera to detect if the person in front of it is indeed Gerst, or someone else. It is also designed to interpret his emotional state.

5] SD Express cards, 985MBps!: 

        SD Association, Shanghai (SDA) has launched the new SD express cards line up that are capable of read/write speeds of up to 985MBps (Yes! Mega Bytes per second). In addition to the lightning speeds, it is available up to 128TB! Furthermore, SDA states that due to its tremendous transfer speeds, the all new SD Express acts as removable SSDs. SD Express cards will initially be offered in the SDHC (32GB), SDXC (2TB), and SDUC (128TB) formats.
