One Plus 6 review!

Overview:

OnePlus 6 has been the sensation of the year bearing a lot of expectations from user end. Oneplus is known for its line of higher end smartphones in the budget range; while oneplus 6 has already been launched, the 256GB variant is yet to be released. Hence I thought it would be the right time to do a review on Onplus 6, concentrating mainly on it pros and cons. Read ahead to find out more regarding the oneplus 6.

Specifications of OnePlus 6:

To begin with the review, lets first of all look into its key specifications:
  • Powered by Snapdragon 845(Octa core) chipset.
  • 6/8GB RAM variants
  • 6.28" AMOLED Full HD display (19:9 aspect ratio)
  • 64/128GB internal storage with 256GB variant to be released
  • Dual nano sim slots
  • Dual rear cameras 16MP (f1.7 and OIS ) and 20MP(f1.7)
  • Front camera 16MP (f2.1)
  • 3300mAh Battery
  • Comes with a finger print/ face unlock features and is booted up with Android 8.1

Lets look into the good things of Oneplus 6:

  • The phone looks classy and gives a premium feel on the new Oneplus 6 (specially the red colour variant)
  • The notch is available in almost all flagship smartphones; but with the Oxygen OS on Oneplus 6, you can hide/show the notch area based on your liking.
  • The alert slider has been moved to the right side and animations have been added to be displayed whenever the slider is used
  • Since the Oxygen OS version of Android is similar to stock android, free of bloatware; operating in Oneplus 6 is fluid, lag-free and gives a smooth user experience.
  • Advantage of incorporating Snapdragon 845 is that, Oneplus 6 comes with true VoltE implying; both the sim slots are now VoltE enabled which helps make the phone future secure since many of the network providers are moving to VoltE.
  • Moving to the call quality, the voice, network reception, earpiece speaker and the loud speaker are performance oriented and work very well.
  • The battery life is easily about 5.5-6hrs with 4G sims in use and can last for a day in case of a typical user.
  • The camera is stunning on Oneplus 6 after the implementation of Optical Image Stabilization. It allows you to click vibrant photos even under low/artificial light conditions.
  • Portrait mode has been enabled on both primary and secondary cameras with the latest software update.
  • Still retains a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Coming to the Cons in the Oneplus 6:

  •  The finger print scanner is rectangle in shape, has been moved right below the flash and has reduced in size which makes it difficult unlock till you get adjusted to it.
  • In the dual camera setup, the second lens of 20MP is used only to get the blur in portrait mode which was kind of below the benchmark considering the brand Oneplus. They should have added in a wide angle lens instead.
  • OnePlus 6 lacks both wireless charging and also the official IP rating to prove its water resistance. However, Oneplus claims it to be splash proof.
  • Comes with only mono speaker; would have been better with dual speakers.

 In Total:

The Oneplus 6 is a powerful device with some serious processing power. Although, a 6GB variant would do you justice compared to an 8GB variant because any smartphone has its limitations and cannot compete with a laptop which makes the 6GB variant sufficient for usage. The camera is good but has room for improvement by implementing AI features as most of the flagship phones are now doing.
